Defending Employers, Adverse to Unions

Praemia’s labor lawyers defend employers, adverse to unions. Whatever the matter – union organizing, collective bargaining, a grievance, an unfair labor practice charge, a strike, or violence – our team is prepared.

With over 75 years of combined, labor-relations experience, Praemia attorneys make the complex simple and foster certainty so employers can achieve their goals in business and in life.

In addition to hands-on work for employers, our labor-relations attorneys have leadership roles in national organizations challenging compulsory unionism abuses in the United States.

  • Tim McConville’s perspective in labor relations has its roots in his prior leadership at the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation, where as Vice President he represented individuals subjected to compulsory unionism abuses. Tim currently serves as the president and chairman of the board at the National Institute for Labor Relations Research, Inc.

  • Michael Avakian has represented management in labor-relations matters for over four decades. He is counsel to the Center on National Labor Policy, Inc., where he has successfully challenged union corruption, violence against employers and workers, and other abuses. As an Associate Deputy Secretary of Labor and the Senior Executive at the United States Department of Labor on regulatory matters, Mike formerly oversaw 20+ subordinate federal agencies and directly served the Secretary of Labor and Deputy Secretary of Labor. Mike has litigated a complete range of labor-law matters representing management, including discrimination, ERISA, picketing, secondary boycott, tort, and violence cases.
